Alfredo Ramos

ARTIST

From an empiric formation as artist-photographer, Alfredo Ramos studied professionally as geographer and possesses an experience in light techniques in the scenic space. Alfredo goes away from the traditional codes of the picture (report, landscape, body or portrait). His artworks are mediators among abstract forms that exist and the human perception is not able to perceive by the lack of information. He goes beyond the figurative representation of the world, considering that the consumed information is insufficient since we born, as part of the influences of the family, the education, the Media, the society: ways that supposedly teaches us to perceive. Alfredo tries to activate a sensitive spiritual retina to read and to interpret a seemingly "silent" or "empty" and undecipherable world. (1964, Havana, Cuba. Lives and works between Berlin and Havana)
